The game design challenge that never was is back with a vengeance. The new date is August 28th - 30th. There's a Ludum Dare (15) at the same time, so you can partake this challengeand LD15 t the same time! Great value for your efforts, ain't it?
So, as before, I'm challenging all y'all to design a game in 48 hours. I promise to give feedback to the first 15 who take on this challenge as well as provide some form of forum, blog or other web presence for people to strut their stuff and give peer feedback to each other. All this to have some peer support and commitment to game design for me and you to make something complete.
I don't care if you choose to design a role-playing game, a video game or even a board game. If you choose to design a computer game, please consider entering the Ludum Dare #15.
If you'd prefer more boundaries and restrictions to fuel up your inspiration let me know and I'll see if any more rules can be applied.
If you need inspiration and are looking to make a video game, I suggest you take on some of Lost Garden's game dev challenges (Fishing Girl, Shade, Play with Your Peas , CuteGod, SpaceCute).
For me the most important thing in this challenge is for everyone willing to get a chance to clear out a day or two to take a shot of designing or developing something complete. So it's not what kind of thing you do but being committed to finish something in a short time. And learning from the experience.
That's all for now. I'll post updates as the event gets closer. I'll also be challenging people on different forums (mostly Finnish ones though). Comment below if you are ready to take the challenge.
